Removal is achieved by dissolving air in water or wastewater under pressure and releasing the air at atmospheric pressure in the flotation cell basin.
The released air forms micro- or nano-bubbles which attach to the suspended solids, causing them to float to the surface where they can then be removed by the skimmer.
