Our DAF flotation systems are ideal for removing suspended solids down to 10 microns. Floating micro-bubbles have the added benefit of removing high concentrations of oil and grease from the water. The modular design of our DAF flotation systems is available in various sizes up to 200 m³/h and can even be configured to handle the largest flows.


Working principle

DAF flotation systems are designed to remove suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) and grease (O&G) from wastewater streams. Contaminants are removed by using an aqueous solution of dissolved air produced by injecting air under pressure into a circulating stream of clarified DAF effluent. This circulating stream then mixes and mixes with the incoming wastewater in an internal contact chamber, where dissolved air comes out of solution in the form of micron-sized bubbles attached to the contaminants. Air bubbles and contaminants rise to the surface and form a floating bed of material, which is removed by a surface skimmer into an internal hopper for further processing.

DAF flotation systems are available as skid mounted systems for quick and easy installation anywhere in the world. They can be configured to optimize the filtration requirements of the raw water supply, in electroplated or open designs. The compact design can be complemented with optional equipment to maximize flocculation and pH regulation.
