Dissolved Air Flotation DAF is commonly used to treat wastewater and process water. They involve creating tiny air bubbles that float suspended particles to the surface, where they are then removed by skimmers. The dissolved air flotation process enhances the natural tendency of suspended matter to float to the surface by introducing small air bubbles attached to suspended solid particles to form a special flocculent particle. Tiny air bubbles attach to solids and float them to the surface, forming surface scum. The skimmer then removes the scum from the surface. DAF systems help reduce TSS and other suspended solids, reduce BOD and COD, improve overall water quality and reduce the need for chemical treatment.
