Advantage
Suspended air flotation uses an externally generated suspension of air bubbles with a high air content. Each bubble is covered with a chemically active film that firmly adheres to the flocculation in wastewater, enabling high-rate and efficient flotation. In contrast, DAF uses high pressure to dissolve small amounts of air in water without chemically active agents and relies on physical entrapment and weaker surface binding to float flocculated solids.
