Working principle
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is an advanced technology used in industrial pretreatment, wastewater treatment and water treatment that removes contaminants and by-products by creating tiny bubbles in wastewater. These bubbles combine with suspended solids, grease and other contaminants and then float to the surface, forming a scum layer that can then be removed by equipment such as slag scrapers. DAF systems are widely used in food processing, papermaking, petrochemical and other industries because of their efficiency, compactness and ease of operation.

Application
The application scope of DAF has expanded to more areas of industrial pretreatment, resource recovery and water treatment.
DAF is used in drinking water treatment, algae removal, biosolids clarification, plastic recycling, phosphorus removal, metal recovery from acid mine drainage, protein recovery and removal of suspended and colloidal solids from surface waters.
DAF is used in conjunction with other water treatment technologies such as flocculation and filtration to improve treatment efficiency and water quality. For example, DAF can be used to remove suspended solids and algae from drinking water, improving water quality and making it comply with drinking water standards.
